IEI Approves Agreement to be Acquired by Linear LLC On May 15, 2007, International Electronics announced that it had signed a definitive merger agreement to be acquired by Linear LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Nortek, Inc. IEI's Board of Directors unanimously approved the terms of the agreement. John Waldstein, IEI President and CEO said of the agreement, "We are proud to have created a leading electronic access control company. With Linear's support, IEI will continue to build on the strong platform that has been created, moving vigorously forward in the security industry marketplace." In an email message after the announcement, IEI said, "Be assured that our commitment to you will continue. We appreciate your support and we will work hard to continue to earn your trust in the future." Government Solutions Website Launched
IEI is a GSA Contract Holder and the company's products have already been installed in many hundreds of federal and state government facilities by experienced security dealers. To view IEI's government solutions website, click here. Latest Price List Contains Product Updates A mid-2007 price list was issued by IEI in early May, with a June 1, 2007 effective date. The changes to the price list include listings of new products as well as price changes to some existing products. Over the past 6 months since the last price list was issued, IEI has added depth to its product offering with releases such as the Max 3 Access System. All new compliments of products that IEI offers are included in the new price list. Max 3 System Kits Makes Installation Easy Max 3 Single Door Access Control System Kits IEI has pre-packaged the Max 3 and MiniMax 3 into system kits that include everything necessary for a single door installation. These convenient kits are available through most distribution outlets. Kits for the Max 3 come packaged with: door control module and backplane to support 3 additional Max 3 control modules in an oversized metal cabinet with cam lock; Hub Manager Professional access control software; an XF 1050 proximity reader that is AWID, HID, xCeedID, and Casi/ProxLite compatible; 12/24 VDC board power supply for locks; and an AC transformer for system and an AC transformer for lock power supply. Badging Video Tutorial Available for eMerge Browser Managed Security Platform A video tutorial designed to simplify the set-up and installation of badging on the eMerge platform is now available. The CD is now shipping with eMerge systems and can be accessed on the IEI secure customer website for certified eMerge dealers. The video takes users through the process of configuring and setting up a badging capability for either photo-ID or visitor management. To login to the IEI secure customer website and view the tutorial click here. This site requires an approved username and password that will be provided to certified eMerge dealers. The optional eMerge photo-ID package enables users to capture images and add text to personalized custom badge templates. IEI offers a variety of card printers and card/badge printing supplies. The prox.pad plus IR provides entry level to mid-sized access control functionality with the use of two onboard relays and two inputs for request to exit and door position monitoring. By using the proximity reader and keypad together, a higher level of security is achieved by requiring both to grant access. The prox.pad plus IR, using infra-red wireless technology, is IEI's latest product addition. This fully integrated controller with proximity reader and keypad compliments the LS2 Series locksets. All communication to and from the prox.pad plus IR and the LS2 Series locksets is achieved using IEI's wireless infra-red "Data Transport Device" (DTD).
