How do I upgrade to 3.3?

v3.3 Upgrade Program available to Authorized Resellers ONLY

Existing v2.5.18 systems may be upgraded to v3.3 by replacing the old Network Controller (part # 0587008) with a new v3.3 Network Controller (part# 230219 {3.3 emerge 50}{ #230220 emerge 5000}) or by "upgrading" an existing v2.5.18 controller (part# 230343).  Existing v2.5.18 boards can be "upgraded" assuming that the boards are in good working order.  All v2.5.18 licenses will be re-activated to match existing license configurations.  Additional licenses will be sold as add-on and will require applicable license fees.

An authorized re-seller is defined as a customer with an established account.  Resellers without an account will be referred to Linear Customer Service via standard operating procedure.  All upgrades will be administered by Linear Technical Services located in Carlsbad, CA, by calling 1-800-421-1587 or emailing returns@linearcorp.com.

All Upgrades will be performed by an authorized Linear repair facility as v2.5.18 controllers are not field upgradeable.

Cost of upgrading depends on warranty status of each system.  Network Controllers running v2.5.18 will be considered "in warranty" if purchased between August 2008 and September 2009.  To determine warranty status, Reseller must furnish "proof of purchase" by submitting one of the following:

  1. Copy of the original purchase order or Sales Order
  2. Submission of 4 digit date code located on label affixed to the twin Ethernet RJ45 jack mounted on the Network Controller.
  3. Once warranty is determined, an R.P.A. or R.M.A. number will be issued to the Reseller per standard policy.
  4. All R.P.A. and R.M.A. inquiries from non-authorized resellers will be referred to Customer Service per standard policy.
  5. An R.M.A./R.P.A. will not be assigned until the system "about Page" has been faxed or emailed to Technical Services.  Additional software features can be added for additional costs.
  6. End users will be referred to an Authorized Reseller foe disposition.
