I have a clicking noise when I try to listen.

If you are using a 4-wire Intercom System, there may be a short in the wiring or in one or more of the stations. The primary trouble shooting steps involve a procedure we call the "Black-wire Test." The "Black-wire Test" will require the disconnecting of wires and the possible moving of stations.

The test procedures:

1. Remove face of master unit, and remove unit from wall (two phillip screws, one located on each side of the unit).

2. Locate the terminal post with all the black wires, along with the screw terminal marked patio black (if applicable).

3. Remove all the black wires, including any patio blacks.

4. Test system to see if problem still persist. If problem has cleared then continue with step 5. If problem persist, further troubleshooting of the system will be required.

5. Start adding black wires back to post one at a time, checking system each time.

6. Once you find the wire that is duplicating the problem, leave it off, and reconnect the remaining black wires.

7. Turn on system, and play the radio.

8. Now go to each station in the system and press the Talk button. If the music cuts off and allows you to talk over the intercom, that station is connected and working properly. When you get to the station that allows the music to continue to play when you press and hold the Talk button, this is the station with the black wire removed from the back of the master. This is the station that is causing the problem.

9. Check the wire run for that station for shorts, if wire is good then the station will need to be replaced, or repaired.
