I am getting a DTD violation error

First thing with the DTD (data transfer device) is connecting it to the computer.  Make sure you turn the DTD on by holding down the "ON" button for 2 seconds.  It has a USB connector, so once the computer recognizes new hardware it will want to install the drivers, which are located in  C:\Program Files\IEI\HubManagerPro7\Program\Utilities\USB_Driver\FTDI_XP-2K-2003.

Second, you will need to select an open port for communications with the device.   After the drivers are installed you can check the device manager to see which port was assigned then make sure it is the same option selected in Hubman.

Once the driver is installed Hubman can communicate with the DTD.  In Hubman go to Communications>Import/Export Doors.   The top section has your Communication Options.   Normally you will want to update the time/date in controller in both columns.  The first time you export doors to the DTD select "Export ALL data" (Full Export).   Successive exportations will probably only require updates.   Then you simply select the doors you want to export to the DTD keeping in mind only prox pad IR and LS2 locksets will take this data.  Once the doors are selected, select "Start" and wait for it to complete.

Once the doors have been exported to the DTD you can take the DTD to the doors.  Then follow these steps:

  1. Turn the DTD on and press 'enter'.
  2. select import/export and press enter.
  3. select either auto search or manual search for the door(s) you want press 'enter' - the DTD will ask for the COMM Unlock Code, this is the master code for the door's keypad (default is 1234*) and needs to be entered  on the keypad.
  4. Once entered press enter on the DTD it prompts with "this is not secure," press enter again and have the DTD aligned with the IR ports on the keypad device.   On the LS2 locksets it is one of the LED locking dots on the right of the keypad just to the right of the 3 and 6 number buttons.   The IR port on the Prox Pad IR is on the bottom of the housing.   The IR ports are finicky and data transfer is slow.   The signal must be kept aligned or it will time out.If it drifts a little it will light the red LED, you have 10 seconds to make it realigned or you'll have to start over.   When the DTD is aligned and communicating the middle yellow LED will light and the DTD display will have a little > carat like symbol blinking.   When the yellow LED goes off and the display returns to normal text transfer is complete.
  5. The data transfer is slow.   Once data is transferred all the users you have in Hubman for those doors will be entered into the keypad.

The other operation for that DTD device is to import audit logs/activity logs from the doors to the device and then from the device to the Hubman software.   That is just kind of a reverse operation.  Follow these steps:

  1. Select import on the DTD, align enter the master door code.
  2. Back at the computer go to Hubman, then go to Communications thenImport/Export Doors.
  3. Select import transaction logs and press start.
