AE-2000+ Fatal Error 002C

Fatal Error 002C occurs when the display driver (part of the CPU board) encounters an element it is unable to decode and display.

There are two basic reasons this happens:

1. There was a glitch while data was being sent to the panel. This
could  be caused by a noisy phone connection or a loss of power,
either at the computer or the panel.

2. There is a character within a database field that isn’t recognized by
the panel. This is usually quotation marks or other punctuations (other
than a coma) in the “Tenant name” field in AccessBase2000’s
    Cardholder, Directory Codes area.

You will most likely encounter this message after sending data to the panel. If you do, check the last data you entered for anything out of the ordinary in any of the data entry fields. If necessary, compare the latest entry to an earlier entry.

If the latest entry appears normal, then the error was likely caused by a glitch during upload.

To clear the error message, perform the following steps:

At the panel:

1. Open the front door.

2. Press and hold the Relay A and Relay B buttons.
The buttons are located beneath the top two relays
which are located on the large board mounted inside
the AE-2000+ case. This is called the I/O board.

3. While holding the A & B buttons, press and release the restart button
located on the CPU board (the board that is mounted on the door).

4. Continue holding the A & B buttons until the 2-digit display on the I/O
board indicates 0 0 (zero zero).

5. Release the A & B buttons.

6. Press the “UP” button next to the 2-digit display, so the display
    reads 0 5 (Zero Five).

7. Press and release the “ENTER” button located below the 2-digit
    display.

The display will flash numbers and letters.

8. When the display again reads 0 5 and the red Reader A LED is on,
press and release the “Restart” button.

The panel is now reset to factory defaults and all data is erased. You should see the default message on the display.

At the computer:

1. Click the “Setup” button (it looks like a Hammer & screwdriver).

2. Click “Network.”

3. Click on the panel that had the error message.

4. Move the cursor down to “Program.”

5. Click on “Reprogram entire node."

6. Click the “Program Network” button (It has a red, up-pointing arrow).

When the upload completes, check the display on the AE-2000+.
