On both sides of the mounting plate of the motor unit, you will find a large adjusting screw. The close force adjusting screw is on the left side and is marked "CLOSE." The open force adjusting screw is on the right side and is marked "OPEN." Turning the appropriate adjusting screw clockwise will increase the force setting of the operator. Turning the adjusting screw counterclockwise will decrease the force setting of the operator.
The operator should be set for the minimum force required to consistently operate the door. The operator comes from the factory with the force settings on minimum. Force adjustments should not be used to compensate for improperly adjusted or broken door springs or hardware. If your door is difficult to open by hand, contact your installing dealer or other garage door professional.
