To setup the network storage location:
Network Administrator tasks:
1.On the FTP Server create a user name, password, and directory for the security system FTP Backups.
Note: A password is optional. The backup directory must be created at the root level of the FTP server.
2.Decide whether Active mode FTP or Passive mode FTP shall be used and ensure that firewalls will not block the needed ports.
Note: When using active FTP, TCP ports 20 and 21 must be open to the FTP server for FTP backups from the Network Controller. When using passive FTP port 20 will not be required: Ports must also be left open to the Network Controller for FTP server responses. The network administrator must set up these ports.
Security System setup tasks:
1.Setup, choose Network Resources.
2.Select FTP Backup.
On this page you can:
1. Specify the FTP server that is setup to accept backups from the network controller.
2. Specify the user name, password, and directory for FTP backups.
3. Perform an immediate FTP backup.
Note: The system does not support DOS file systems on FTP servers.
The network controller serially performs daily backups and other system maintenance activities at 00:15 hours. These backups are written to the network controller board and to an FTP server if one is configured here.
3. Check the 'Enabled' box and enter the IP address for your FTP server.
4. Enter the Username and Password (for FTP server).
5. Enter the Backup Directory (this must be a shared folder created in the root directory of the FTP server.)
6. Passive Mode: If passive mode FTP is used click to place a check in this box. If this box is not checked then active mode FTP is used by default.
7. Select Save then Test Connection.
8. Click the Backup Nowbutton to perform an immediate backup.
