The network controller performs daily backups at 00:15 hours. These backups are written to the network controller board and automatically written to network storage if a local share location is configured here. In this release the security application provides no integration with Active Directory or Domain level shares.
Backup to a network storage location will back up the:
1. Security database with all configuration information.
2. Photos and badge designs.
3. Floor plans.
4. Sound files.
5. Other images that you may have uploaded to the Controller.
Note: To complete the setup of Network Storage you will need the assistance of a network administrator. Once the network administrator has completed their steps they can supply you with the information for the fields on this page.
To setup the network storage location:
Network Administrator tasks:
- Create a network share on the same sub-net as the network controller.
Note: The share name may not include spaces.
- Create a local user account and password (as opposed to a Domain user account) for the network controller to access the network share.
- Grant the user account share permissions and security permissions for the network share.
1. Under Setup, choose Network Resources.
2. Select Network Storage.
3. Enter the Network Attached Storage IP address.
4. Enter the Share Name.
5. Enter the Directory (the directory must be directly off of the share name).
6. Enter the Username and Password (for the NAS).
