- Right click on this icon and choose Properties from the pop-up menu.
- This will bring up a window labeled System Properties.
- Click on the Hardware tab.
- Click on the button labeled Device Manager.
- This will bring up a window labeled Device Manager.
- Click on the + next to the line labeled Ports (COM & LPT).
- The Com Ports that your computer recognizes will be listed as either a Comm Port or USB Serial Port
- The number following the names above will be the Com Port number assigned to that port.
