Requirements:
A. SEG-1 configured for a Static or Dynamic (DHCP) IP address
B. Max2/MiniMax2 or Max3/MiniMax3, ProxPadPlus, HubPlus, HC500P
SEG-1 configured with a Static or Dynamic (DHCP) IP address – Max3/MiniMax3
1. Connect the SEG-1 to the Max3/MiniMax3 in the following manner:
a. Use connector TS-1 on the SEG-1 and TS3 on the backplane of the Max3/MiniMax3

2. Apply 12VDC power to the SEG on TS-2
a. Negative pin 2
b. Positive pin 3
3. Connect a CAT-5 cable to your router, switch or hub and to the RJ-45 jack on the SEG-1.
4. Verify that the Local/Remote switch on the backplane is set to Local.
5. Press the Reset button on the front of the SEG.
SEG-1 configured with a Static or Dynamic (DHCP) IP address – ProxPadPlus
1. Connect the SEG-1 to the ProxPadPlus in the following manner:
a. Connector TS-1 on the SEG-1 and P5 on the ProxPadPlus
SEG-1 / TS-1 ---- ProxPadPlus / P5
1 White
2 Brown
5 Green
2. Apply 12VDC power to the SEG on TS-2
a. Negative pin 2
b. Positive pin 3
3. Connect a CAT-5 cable to your router, switch or hub and to the RJ-45 jack on the SEG.
4. Verify that the Local/Remote switch on the backplane is set to Local.
5. Press the Reset button on the front of the SEG.
SEG-1 configured with a Static or Dynamic (DHCP) IP address – Max2/MiniMax2
1. Connect the SEG-1 to the Max2/MiniMax2 in the following manner:
a. If the SEG is less than 6 feet from the Max2/MiniMax2, use the IEI supplied Phone Type Cord to connect
the RS232 connector on the SEG-1 to the RJ-11A jack on the backplane of the Max2/MiniMax2 or
b. If the SEG is more than 6 feet from the Max2/MiniMax2, connect TS-1 on the SEG-1 to TS1 on the
Max2/MiniMax2 in the following manner:
SEG-1 / TS-1 ---- Max2 / TS1

2. Apply 12VDC power to the SEG on TS-2
a. Negative pin 2
b . Positive pin 3
3. Connect a CAT-5 cable to your router, switch or hub and to the RJ-45 jack on the SEG.
4. Verify the Local/Remote switch on the backplane is set to Local.
5. Press the reset button on the front of the SEG.
SEG-1 configured with a Static or Dynamic (DHCP) IP address – HC500P
1. Connect the SEG-1 to the HC500P in the following manner:
a. Connector TS-1 on the SEG-1 and Port A on the Hub Control Communication Board in the HC500P
SEG-1 / TS-1 ---- Port A
3 Grey
4 Blue
5 Green
2. Apply 12VDC power to the SEG on TS-2
a. Negative pin 2
b. Positive pin 3
3. Connect a CAT-5 cable to your router, switch or hub and to the RJ-45 jack on the SEG.
4. Verify the Local/Remote switch on the backplane is set to Local.
5. Press the Reset button on the front of the SEG.
SEG-1 configured with a Static or Dynamic (DHCP) IP address – HubPlus
1. Connect the SEG-1 to the HubPlus in the following manner:
a. If the SEG is less than 6 feet from the HubPlus, use the IEI supplied Phone Type Cord to connect the RS232
connector on the SEG-1 to the RJ-11 jack on the Hub Connection Board
i. Make sure the jumpers to the left of the RJ-11 jack at J1 and J2 are on pins 2 and 3
ii. or
b. If the SEG is more than 6 feet from the HubPlus, connect TS-1 on the SEG-1 to Port A on the HubPlus, Hub
Connection Board in the following manner:
SEG-1 / TS-1 ---- Port A
3 Grey
4 Blue
5 Green
2. Apply 12VDC power to the SEG on TS-2
a. Negative pin 2
b. Positive pin 3
3. Connect a CAT-5 cable to your router, switch or hub and to the RJ-45 jack on the SEG.
4. Verify the Local/Remote switch on the backplane is set to Local.
5. Press the Reset button on the front of the SEG.
