SETUP COMMUNICATIONS WITH THE NETWORK

In this tutorial, we will set up AccessBase to communicate with the network via modem. AccessBase is designed to communicate with the network via modem (dial-up) or serial port (direct connect). For this tutorial, we will do the following:

Connect to the network via modem.

The phone number of the network is 438-7178.

1) To get to the network setup screen, go to Setup > Network.

2) Click on the Node A icon. The following dialog box appears:

3) Ensure that MODEM is selected in the Connect Using box. Type the phone number of the network in the phone number box. Since we will be making a local call, we will deselect the Use country code and area code option. The dialog box should look like this:

4) Click OK to go back to the main menu screen.
